Coaches the next generation?
Fabian House ’16
Fabian House discovered his career path early on. “I was interested in law, but I realized after my freshman year that it didn’t give me the satisfaction that I knew I’d get from helping students learn. I loved the idea of getting involved in someone’s life and helping them become a better person.” During his time at Wabash, Fabian was motivated by teachers who asked more of him and helped him grow as a person. Now he gets to pay that forward as a 9th grade English teacher and track coach at a charter school in Indianapolis as an Indianapolis Teaching Fellow. “My students have such a great sense of humor and they make me appreciate irony. I discover little jokes and humor when I look through their assignments.” Fabian’s favorite part about teaching is when he learns from his students. “When I ask open-ended questions, I get their honest thoughts and that’s when I start learning from them.”
That’s a Wabash man for you. Seriously.
